About the Club

Soccer Chance Academy (SCA) is a year-round competitive youth soccer club located in Southeast Portland, Oregon. The club launched in 2018, providing a complete soccer education. SCA serves various age groups, including "Explore" (5-8 years), "Experiment" (9-12 years), "Express" (13-15 years), and "Execute" (16-18 years). A core philosophy of SCA is "The Individual is the Syllabus," placing the player at the center of a non-traditional development pathway. The club emphasizes a holistic approach, fostering technical, physical, psychological, and social growth in a supportive environment. SCA distinguishes itself with a unique games program that challenges conventional approaches to field size, single-gendered teams, and age groupings. The academy also boasts an international reach, maintaining ties with a home club in North London, which provides Portland-based players with opportunities to travel abroad. Soccer Chance Academy is a participant in MLS NEXT for its U13-U19 boys teams, commencing in the 2025/2026 season within the Pacific Northwest Division. The club has a history of developing players, with over 200 alumni progressing to collegiate programs and professional soccer clubs. SCA's 2012 Boys and Girls teams have achieved success as US Youth Soccer National Champions.
