About the Club
The Portland Thorns Academy is a youth soccer organization based in Portland, Oregon, directly affiliated with the professional NWSL team, Portland Thorns FC. The Academy offers a comprehensive development program for female athletes, aiming to prepare them for youth national teams, collegiate, and professional opportunities. They operate with a "One Club" mentality, emphasizing player development in a positive, player-centered environment. The Academy features Pre-ECNL teams for younger players, ECNL and ECNL-RL teams for elite national and regional competition, and a WPSL team (Portland Thorns II) to further enhance player pathways. Unique selling points include training opportunities at Providence Park, interaction with Thorns FC players and staff, and scouting by U.S. Youth National Team scouts and college coaches. The club is committed to producing players who can advance to the Thorns first team, national teams, and college programs.
