About the Club

Springfield/South County Youth Club (SYC) is a non-profit organization established in 1977 that offers athletic programs for boys and girls aged 4 to 19. SYC aims to promote character development, good sportsmanship, and exemplary behavior through its programs. They offer a variety of sports, including basketball, cheerleading, field hockey, football, lacrosse, rugby, soccer, softball, track/cross country, and volleyball. With over 10,000 registrations annually, SYC encourages participation across multiple sports for well-rounded athletes. The club is a volunteer organization supported by a small paid staff and governed by a Board of Directors. SYC is funded through membership fees and donations. They also have an alliance with McLean Youth Soccer called Virginia Union FC, which competes at the ECNL level.
