About the Club

The Minnesota United FC Academy is dedicated to developing talented young soccer players and providing a pathway to the professional level. The academy competes in the MLS NEXT League and focuses on creating a professional coaching and development environment. They aim to make high-level youth soccer accessible to players regardless of their socioeconomic background. For players aged 8-14, MNUFC collaborates with local clubs, focusing on early development and talent identification. Starting at the U15 level, players transition into the MLS NEXT teams, which involve a year-round calendar and a more intensive professional environment. This structure continues through the U17 and U19 levels, leading to the MLS NEXT Pro team, MNUFC2, which serves as a bridge to the first team. The academy emphasizes holistic development, including academic, personal, and soccer pursuits. They also prioritize the mental health of their players through programs like "Change to Chill" in partnership with Allina Health. The academy has a proven track record, with players signing Homegrown contracts and appearing in MNUFC2 matches. Additionally, graduating players have had opportunities for college scholarships or professional contracts. The MNUFC Academy also hosts camps for both recreational and competitive players aged 6-15, providing opportunities to develop skills and understanding of the game under the guidance of licensed academy staff.
