About the Club
Founded in 1975, West Florida Flames is a large youth soccer organization in Florida and the Southeastern United States, with over 12,000 members and 5,000 players across the Tampa Bay area. They offer Recreational, Competitive, and Adult soccer programs, aiming to provide a positive and rewarding experience for players of all ages and abilities, from beginners to national-level competitors. Their mission is to promote soccer in the Greater Tampa Bay community with an emphasis on youth development, creating a supportive environment that focuses on fun, enjoyment, skill learning, and challenging those who seek to reach their full potential. West Florida Flames also emphasizes teaching life skills such as teamwork, responsibility, discipline, communication, and respect. They are a 501(c)(3) not-for-profit organization. Programs include Recreational Soccer (Classic), TOPSoccer (Special Needs), Academy Soccer, Competitive Soccer (Elite), and Adult Soccer. Recreational soccer is available for players aged 4 to under 19, with options for in-house play at local fields for younger ages and home and away games for older teams. Adult recreational soccer is a coed league for players 18 and older, with games typically played on Friday nights. West Florida Flames has also been a member of the U.S. Soccer Girls' Development Academy.
