About the Club

GFI Academy is a youth soccer organization primarily operating in the Greater Houston area, with locations in The Woodlands, Grand Oaks, Spring Branch, and Sugar Land, Texas. The club was established in 2023. GFI Academy offers programs for boys and girls across various age groups, from recreational players born in 2020 to 2010, to high-performance athletes born between 2015 and 2006. A key distinguishing feature of GFI Academy is its stated commitment to providing a true pathway to college and professional soccer, supported by partnerships with clubs like Chivas Guadalajara and C.F. Fuenlabrada. The club implements a player-centric methodology, emphasizing individual and team techniques, physical conditioning, cognitive development, and psychological-emotional aspects. GFI Academy also offers a unique boarding program that combines education with athlete development, including options for HomeStay in The Woodlands, a Boarding School in Houston, and a European Academy in Madrid. For competitive play, GFI Academy participates in top-tier leagues and programs. These include MLS Next, MLS Next Homegrown, and Texas Next, which is the second division of MLS Next. Girls' teams compete in the DPL (Development Player League), including GA Aspire and GA Futures teams. The club's competitive teams also participate in South Texas and Houston Leagues, as well as the UPSL Premier division. GFI Academy focuses on developing well-rounded individuals through its "Player's Life" program, which supports competitive players in various life areas.
