About the Club

Charlotte FC Academy is dedicated to developing talented youth soccer players within the MLS NEXT platform. The academy operates full-time U14, U15, U16, and U18 teams, as well as a Discovery Program for U12 and U13 players. Their mission is to cultivate Homegrown Players capable of earning professional contracts with Charlotte FC, aiming to contribute an average of two players per year to MLS. The program is fully funded for all selected full-time participants, removing financial barriers to high-level youth soccer development. Charlotte FC Academy teams compete in MLS NEXT and the Generation Adidas Cup, providing exposure to top domestic and international competition. The academy emphasizes holistic player development, including support in lifestyle, education, and well-being, with a clear pathway from the Academy to Crown Legacy FC (MLS NEXT Pro) and the Charlotte FC First Team. Training takes place at Atrium Health Performance Park. The club's Homegrown territory includes North and South Carolina, but players may also come from other non-Homegrown territories according to MLS guidelines.
