Cedar Stars Academy Newark is a youth soccer organization operating in Newark, New Jersey, and serving surrounding areas including Kearny, East Orange, Elizabeth, and Union. The broader Cedar Stars Academy was founded in 2011, with the Newark division established in 2014 through a partnership with St. Benedict's Preparatory School. The club offers programs for boys and girls across various age groups, with competitive teams ranging from U8 to U19. A distinguishing feature of Cedar Stars Academy Newark is its residential soccer program for players aged 15 to 18, offered in collaboration with St. Benedict's Prep, which combines a rigorous college preparatory education with high-level soccer training. The club emphasizes a holistic approach to player development and has a reputation for developing quality players and teams through professional coaching. Cedar Stars Academy maintains professional alliances with clubs such as Wilmington Hammerheads FC, New York City Football Club (MLS), and MSV Duisberg of Germany's Bundesliga, providing pathways for player advancement. Cedar Stars Academy Newark teams compete in several top competitive youth soccer leagues. These include the Elite Development Program (EDP) for various age groups, the USYS Elite 64 for boys U13 to U19, and the National Academy League for boys U13 to U19, both in collaboration with CSA Bergen. Additionally, the club's Premier teams from U13 through U19 participate in the US Youth Soccer National League EDP Conference. The overarching Cedar Stars Academy organization is also an official member club of MLS Next.
